Happy Holidays because it's the year end CFN special!  Chris and Graham take time to thank all of you fans who listen and enjoy the show.  They talk about some of their favorite films from 2012.  And thanks to all who work on the site and help make CFN great!  We couldn't do any of it without all of you! See you in 2013!!

It's long time friend but first time guest Wayne Federman talking films in the nerd HQ! Wayne tells us what a "Federman and out" is and why he did not like Cloud Atlas.  Graham liked Hitchcock, but didn't love it.  Chris thought A Dark Truth was directed by a 4 year old.  Then Wayne talks about some of the films he's been in like the new Maria Bamford special!  A bunch of DVDs this week and some interesting films in theaters.  It's better than being a dumb married couple at a comedy show! 

Chris and Graham welcome back Fred Stoller into the Nerd HQ.  Fred talks about the new film he wrote and starred in called, "Fred and Vinnie."  Then Graham agrees with Mike Schmidt about Killing Me Softly.  Fred and Graham both really liked Life of Pi.  Chris liked Deadfall, despite a couple of missteps.  Graham and Fred both enjoyed Silver Linings Playbook but weren't blown away.  A couple of ok DVDs coming out and then buckle up for The Hobbit!!  This is the episode that will make you bi-polar.

Chris and Grahm are back with Mike Schmidt!  Graham talks about doing shows Down Under and why Red Dawn was what you think it would be.  Chris goes on a Twilight rampage.  Mike thinks Killing Them Softly is a perfect film.  Graham wants you to see Lincoln but be aready for some long Spielbergy scenes.  Also Graham saw a good doc, Waiting for Surgarman, in Adelaide that is worth your time.  Then more Dark Knight DVD talk and some ok looking films in the theaters this weekend.  This show is better than a vegimite sandwhich.

Chris and Graham welcome back the Smartest Man in the World, Greg Proops! Some nice talk about the LA Podfest, what working on Phantom Menace was like and then an all out film noir nerd con!  A blistering pace is set for all three nerds, in this themed episode, to talk about how growing up in San Francisco influenced Greg's love affair with noir.  They discuss which ones are classic and should be remade.  Graham asks Greg to defend his dislike of Miller's Crossing and much much more!  This ep is like a dame with a nose for trouble, but her sweet pipes keep you coming back for more until you go down for the dirt nap.

Chris and Graham welcome The Stunt People, Eric Jacobus and Rebecca Ahn into the nerd HQ.  They talk about their new film Death Grip (available in the CFN store) and why they made it.  Along with what it takes to do fight choregraphy and the why the whole process of doing action films is more complex than regular films.  Then all four nerd out over some of their favorite action films of all times.  I'm sure someone will mention a film you haven't heard of!  It's a martial arts/action film themed nerd-a-thon, so stretch out!!

Welcome back Laura House!  You light up the nerd cave with some hilarious talk about Skyfall.  Graham liked it and Laura did as well but was a little put off by Javier Bardem's hair.  Chris had a good time with his family at Wreck it Ralph.  And Graham liked Flight a little mroe than Laura.  Some Ok DVDs this week.  And of course its Twilight the final part of the epic endiing finale that is the second part of the conclusion.  Also Silver Linings Playbook looks good.  This is some good ol nerdery for your ears!

Feel the fun with Dean Haglund!  Dean talks about his interview with Tom Hanks and Halle Berry that is on the CFN youtube page.  And then a nice nerdy discussion about Cloud Atlas.  All three really enjoyed the film and suggest that you see it well-rested.  Then Graham goes into how they should of used the actual story about who discovered Mavericks rather than the Hollywood silliness of Chasing Mavericks.  And the boys are a little hopeful that Disney will bring Star Wars back to its former glory.  Chris, Graham and Dean are all fired up for Skyfall and Lincoln this weeked!  If you like quantum mechanics and surfing then this episode is for you!

Happy Halloween!  Chris and Graham are back at the Shriekfest horror film festival.  It's our yearly sojourn interviewing indie horror filmmakers and fest director Denise Gossett!  Want to find out where the horror genre is headed? Then listen to this ep.  Also actor Michael Berryman; from such films as One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, The Hills Have Eyes, Weird Science and many more films talks about working with great directors like John Hughes.  It's a scare-a-riffic episode that will have you seeing red...rum!

Chris and Graham welcome stand-up comic and movie star Kevin Pollak!  Kevin talks about his new podcast "The Kevin Pollak chat show," and the difference of coming from traditional to new media.  Graham was so-so on Seven Psychopaths.  Chris was about the same for For Ellen.  Then Kevin talks about doing a 2 hour interview on the Chat Show and how becoming an actor hurt him a little as a comic.  Then he gives excerpts from his new book "How I Slept My Way to the Middle".  Crazy funny showbiz stories that will blow your mind.  A couple of ok DVD choices and Cloud Atlas opens this weekend!  It's the A Few Good Men of episodes.

130 episodes of pure Kitten Hand love!  Cash Levy enters the gargoyle cave and talks about the LA Podcast Festival.  Then it's a hearty discussion about why Ben Affleck is a good director and did a nice job with Argo.  Cash talks about his favorite trailer and why Die Hard is still great.  Moonrise Kingdom is the only good DVD choice unless you like filling your eyeballs with stupid.  And a lame upcoming weekend of new releases.  I love you.

So close to ep 130 and a new logo!  Let us welcome from the youtube show Nerdterns, Kyle Clark.  Kyle talks about working for Nerdist industries and why he and Graham think you'll like Taken 2.  Chris enjoyed Frankenweenie.  Kyle liked parts of V/H/S, especially the Ti West story.  Three fairly dumb DVD choices and a decent upcoming weekend.  It's the most fun you can have before the LA Podcast Festival Oct. 12-14!!

Welcome back!  After a little break so Graham could fly to Kuwait and tell jokes in a sand box, the nerds are here.  Chris and Graham welcome the co-host of Off The Cuff on XM radio, Gary Brightwell.  Gary talks about working with Blue Collar comic Bill Engvall and working in Vegas. Chris was a little let-down by Looper. Gary and Graham want End of Watch to use a tri-pod and just tell a story.  Chris is a fan of the limited release film Solomon Kane.  Graham was creeped out, in a good way, by The Master and thinks you should watch it.  Gary tells why he likes dramas over comedies.  Two so-so DVDs and then a decent slate of films coming out this weekend.  It's a nerd revolution!

Chris and Graham Welcome the director of Mega Shark vs Octopus, Jack Perez, for a fun filled themed episode.  He talks about how he met Allan Havey.  How crazy it was to make a no-budget film about sharks and mollusks.  Plus a great discussion about what it takes to make an indie film like Some Guy Who Kills People, Jack's latest film with John Landis as the producer.  It is a nerd filled round table with a indie filmmaker who has done it all!  This epsiode will make Ace Hanna proud!

First ever recording in Philly at the Helium Comedy Club!  With actor, Samm "lil wolverene" Levine and lcoal Philly radio personality Nick MacIlwain.  Chris is excited to be back in his home town for this show and Graham drinks lighting and craps thunder.  They discuss some of the films that have been shot in Philly and what made them unique.  Nick has good insight on the locations of many of the Philly films.  Samm talks about the new TV show for NBC that he is shooting in the city of brotherly love.  And then the 4 lads go through what were the best and worst of the summer.  This episode will make you see dead people!

The creator of Deathsquad.TV and former indie movie theater employee, Brian Redban, is in the Nerd HQ.  Brian talks about how he started working with Joe Rogan and doing podcasts.  Then Graham recommends the new John Hilcoat film, Lawless, even with Shia LaBeouf.  Chris found Mike Birbiglia's film, Sleepwalk with Me, compelling.  That opened up a good discussion with all three  about Mike and how most comics have something holding them back emotionally.  Brian talks about some of his favorite indie films and a good DVD pick.  A really off upcoming weekend and much much more!

Chris and Graham welcome back Frank Woodward (Director of "Lovecraft Fear of the Unknown') and suit actor Douglas Tait.  Very interesting talk about Frank's new film, Men In Suits.  About suit actors, like Douglas Tait, and what they go trough like acting with 130 lbs costumes. Then Chris telss us all how much fun Expendables 2 was.  Graham thought Premium Rush was a cliche on wheels.  Douglas and his two kids loved ParaNorman.  Not too much in the way of DVDs to get excited about.  New releases and more fun than your own Bigfoot suit!

Graham and Chris welcome the married couple Annabelle Gurwitch & Jeff Kahn into the Nerd HQ.  First they talk about their book, "You say tomato, I say shut up", about the ups and downs of being married.  Then it's an all out free for all on what makes a good family film.  If you like hearing couples fight, then this is the episode for you.  And some interesting choices for everyone's family films, not what you might expect.  This is the War of the Roses of episodes, so buckle up!!

Fun times in the nerd garage with popular podcasters Keith and The Girl!  Graham was just so-so about Total Recall.  Keith and Chemda think that if you liked the other Bourne films you will like Legacy.  Otherwise it was just Ok.  Chirs was disappointed in 2 Days in New York.  Three decent new DVDs and a wide range of good films coming out this weekend.  Polish up your nerd outfits cause this ep will take you to the prom and give you a baby.  

Chris and Graham welcome the mayor of Lake Tahoe, Howie Nave, into the mobile Nerd HQ.  It's a special Time Travel themed episode from beautiful Lake Tahoe!  Howie and the boys first talk about films that were made up in Lake Tahoe like Smokin Aces, Godfather II and a obscure, but good film, Things Change.  Then it's a nerd free-for-all about time travel films.  They fellas get all nerded out for Time Cop, Planet of the Apes, Terminator(s), Bill and Ted just to name a few.  So much excitement in this episode it will give you a Butterfly Effect (get it?)!

Chris and Graham welcome back Paul F. Tompkins to the nerd HQ.  It's a Step-Up Revolution spoiler alert!!!  Graham was unaware that flash mobs can reverse public policy, who knew?  Chris watched a very good and sad samurai film Hara-Kiri.  Graham really liked The Intouchables despite it's name.  Paul talks about his podcast and David Lean.  One really stupid DVD film and Paul was not as excited about Total Recall as one might expect.  It is a Nerd Revolution so shut up and dance!!

Part B of the two-part epiosde.  IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN DARK KNIGHT RISES THEN DO NOT LISTEN! (unless you want to hear about the whole film) Chris, Graham and Mike Schmidt talk about the finer points of the film, including Bane's voice, plot points, the ending and much more.  All three have some serious opinions about this film.  It is a special Nerd-a-riffic episode that will go down in history.

Chris and Graham welcome back nerd writer Mike Schmidt for a special two-part episode!  Part A is a regular episode with a general review of The Dark Knight Rises (Part B is a spoiler alert episode of Dark Knight Rises) where all three loved the film.  Mike and Chris had some minor complaints and Graham thought it was perfect.  Chris finally watches Spider-man and thought it was useless and was mad at Graham for being to easy on Erik Griffin.  Graham liked To Rome With Love, not as much as Midnight in Paris, but still good.  Only two new DVD's and then the film event of the summer STEP UP REVOLUTION!!!

Chris and Graham go down to the San Diego Comic Con and interview Kung Fu film expert, Ric Meyers.  Ric talks about his panel, the Superhero Kung Fu Extravaganza, that has been at Comic Con for 15 years.  Then there is a healthy discussion about the Dark Knight films and the use of martial arts in them.  Also discussed are movie studio conspiracies and obscure martial arts films.  It is a nerd explosion that will sweep your leg!

Graham and Chris welcome Erik Griffin into the Nerd HQ.  Erik talks about his character, Montez Walker, from the show Workaholics on Comedy Central.  Erik and Graham spilt a little on Spider-Man.  Chris was just so-so on Savages.  Graham and Erik both liked Ted.  Chris' was glad to see Brave was better than Cars 2 but not as good as Up.  Graham gives a good recommendation to Safety Not Guaranteed.  A good DVD pick is out and a great weekend to stay home and rest up for Dark Knight Rises.  It will make you want to see Janet Jackson's nipple!

It's a new special themed episode called "DVD Closet!" Jackie brings a bunch of DVD's into the nerd HQ and they admit they are gay...wait no that's not what happens.  Chris, Graham and Jackie talk about her collection of films.  Some classics and gulity pleasures are discussed.  Maybe this will be a regular event? (Cliffhanger ending)

Chrisam (short for Chris and Graham) are glad to have Neil T. Weakley back in the Nerd HQ for a sound discussion of Cult films.  Neil goes into what makes a cult films.  Then all three lads are off to the races about how some cult films start out with bad box office then get some kind of loyal following that builds.  Also there are the really horrible movies that gain cult stauts because they are great fun to get drunk and yell at.  All this is covered in this week's themed episode.

It's a Never Not Funny episode of CFN with Jimmy Pardo.  Chris and Graham welcome back the podcaster who was impressed with Tom Cruise but not at all with Rock of Ages.  Chirs and Jimmy talk musicals.  Graham felt that Your Sister's Sister is what a rom-com should be.  Jimmy reveals that his favoirte film is Breaking Away and why you should watch all the disaster films of the 70's before you watch Airplane.  Some Ok DVD choices and an interesting weeeknd of new releases is on tap.  This show is Pard-a-riffic!

Chris and Graham welcome The Longshot Podcast co-host Sean Conroy into the Nerd HQ.  Sean talks about doing a podcast with Eddie Pepitone and how he made fun of Graham when they first met.  Then all three share their thoughts of disappointment about Prometheus, with Chris a little more in favor of the film.  Sean was just so-so about Lola Versus but loves going to the Hollwood Bowl for a Sound of Music sing-a-long. All three lads tell stories of their first ever films they made as kids.  One out of three new DVDs are worth watching and a bag of shit is opeing this weekend.  Live long and prosper, Nerds!

Chris and Graham welcome comic and author Sean Cullen into the nerd HQ.  Sean talks about why he liked certain aspects of Snow White and the Huntsman, but was confused about some of the hunting techniques.  Chris liked the French film, The Intouchables.  Graham enjoyed Moonrise Kingdom and all three lads had a good discussion about Wes Anderson and Blade Runner.  Sean gave us some insight about working on The Love Guru.  Also discussed were the Joys and Pleasures of Santa Monica.  A action packed list of new DVD's and it's Ridley Scott's new film Prometheus this weekend! Fun is had by all.

Chris and Graham welcome back Geekscape host Jonathan London into the nerd HQ.  Jonathan and Graham liked MIB3, even though it has some problems.  Jonathan talks about how different trailers are cut in other countries.  Chris liked the acting in Take This Waltz.  Jonathan tells us about his experience with People vs. George Lucas and a new documentary he is working on.  Goon is the best of the new DVDs.  And a weekend of ridiculous nonsense will have you staying home to rest up for Prometheus!

Chris and Graham welcome the other half of Hard and Phirm, Mike Phirman,  into the Nerd HQ.  Mike talks about being the producer for Palm Strike Dance Party and doing visual effects for such classics as Firestarter 2.  Chris was questioning his sanity after Battleship.  Mike and Graham both laughed out loud during The Dictator.  Graham watched just enough of What to Expect When You're Expecting to know that his eyes hurt from the stupidity.  Mike also goes into being an extra for a Shaq film.  DVD's and an interesting weekend is coming our way.  It's a nerd sound explosion.  

Chris and Graham have 24 hours to save the world and their guest Mary Lynn Rajskub is going to help!  And talk about movies.  Chris was underwhelmed by Dark Shadows.  Mary Lynn liked Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.  Graham was perplexed by some fo the music choices in the indie film Hick.  Then Mary Lynn talks about the possibliity of a 24 film.  What working with Paul Thomas Anderson is like and Chris askes her about Sunshine Cleaning.  Some decent DVD choices this week and a Battleship of stupid in theaters.  Game on film nerds!

Chris and Graham welcome comic/podcaster Dan Gabriel into the Nerd HQ.  And then it's All AVENGERS!  Three Nerds talk about why they loved this blockbuster! Graham's new CD Palm Strike Dance Party is now in the Store!  Dan talks about his podcast The Best Medicine.  Dan reccomends a lesser known Richard Dreyfuss comedy from the 1980's.  DVDs, in theaters and much more!

Chris and Graham welcome the co-host of Who Charted? Kulap Vilaysack.  It's a fun filled show where they talk about why this weeks box office was so lame.  Graham was just so-so with The Raven, but thinks that Longfellow needs his own theme park.  Chris thought The Giant Mechanical Man was boring.  Kulap talks about Who Charted and what films she thinks are going to take the summer box office.  DVDs are not that great this week but AVEBGERS is HERE!!!  Nerd up bitches, 'cause this one is hot!

Viva Las Vegas!  Chris and Graham are joined by nerd writer Allan Havey in Sin City!  It is a themed episode where the boys discuss Allan's trip to the Turner Classic Movies festival.  Complete with some great old Hollywood stories.  Allan gives insight about some lesser known classic films and his CFN Guide to Movies chapter on war films.  It is a nerd-a-palooza for all things classic cinema!

Chris and Graham welcome back nerd writer, Dean Haglund.  Dean gives us updates on the most recent conspiracies, why he lives in Chris' garage and his kickstarter project.  Chris points out some small upsides to Three Stooges.  Dean loved Cabin in the Woods.  And Graham talks about a good doc, The Island President.  A couple of good DVDs and a upcoming weekend of some mostly dumb looking films.  Don't worry the NSA is listening...

Chris and Graham go on a tri-state killing spree...wait that's something else.  They welcome in Seinfeld writer, Fred Stoller.  Fred talks about his new kindle single, My Seinfeld Year, where he descripes writing on that show like the opposite of his favoritie year.  Chris liked Morgan Spurlock's Comic Con film but hoped for a little more.  Fred and Chris both liked God Bless America.  Fred gives his reasons for liking The Raid as well.  Also a weak showing for new DVDs and some interesting new releases.  It is a show that would make Art Vandelay very proud.    PRE-EMPTIVE CORRECTION:  Chris was right, there is a Slide in Star Chamber. Weirdo.

Chris and Graham talk about Wrath of the Titans and why it got beat at the box office by Hunger Games.  Graham wants everyone to join in a hockey fight and see Goon.  Chris really liked The Lorax despite it having a bad trailer which sparks a discussion about how much trailers have changed and why.  Some good DVDs and interesting choices for upcoming releases.

Fan favorite and Nerd writer Laura House returns to the Nerd cave.  Chris and Graham both liked the Hunger Games but wanted a better action director.  Laura really liked Jeff Who Lives at Home.  Graham thinks The Raid is a must see for martial art film fans.  Laura talks about her Rom Com chapter in the CFN book and why Joe vs The Volcano is a solid make out film.  Some good DVD's coming out and a roll of the dice for new releases.  It is a nerd-tastic piece of ear gold. (I know that doesn't make any sense.)

Chris and Graham welcome back Frank Conniff to enjoy a bench press and some gargolyes.  Frank talks about films and live shows for Cinematic Titanic.  Chris thought John Carter wasn't so bad.  Graham was bored with Jump Street and really lIked Being Flynn.  Frank enjoyed Game Change but wanted a little more.  Some good DVD's out and two good films in theaters this week.  This episode will make you taller and have more friends.

Chris and Graham welcome comic/actress Retta from Parks and Rec into the Gargoyle University.  Graham was really disappointed with Project X but wanted to have a baby with Act of Valor.  Chris thought Wanderlust was better than the trailer. Retta talks about writer/director Richard Curtis and her favorite film, Love Actually.  And some of the inner workings of shooting a TV show.  DVDs, new releases and bring your Hillbilly to work day!

It's an Oscar wrap-up nerd style!  Chris, Graham, Neil and Mike all weigh in on who won and why.  They talk about how the show felt like it was from 1989.  Find out why rabbits are in pots and zone bars are in the alley.  It is a nerd-a-riffic Oscar show that will put a trophy in your pants!

Miller back into the Nerd HQ.  They talk about T.J.'s new podcast and CD DVD that are now available in the CFN store.  Also why The Grey is a disappointment unless you are a wolf.  Graham hopes Man on a Ledge expands to veranda's and roofs.  More oscar talk as Chris and T.J. weigh in about the Descendants.  All agree that the Best Supporting Actor pics are all solid.  T.J. gives great insight into working with Tom Cruise.  DVDs, new releases and much more!

Chris and Graham welcome comic Shawn Pelofsky into the nerd HQ.  She talks about doing comedy on gay cruises.  Graham liked Contrabrand, but thought the Iron Lady spent too much time on Margaret Thatcher's later years.  All three talk about the best and worst films of 2011. Shawn liked X-Men and Thor and was just ok about The Help.  Graham defended 50/50 and Chris started a cage fight over Tree of Life.  Plus DVDs and some promising new releases!

Chris and Graham welcome comedian and actor Tom Wilson to the Nerd cave.  Tom talks about playing Biff in the Back to the Future films and working with Robert Zemeckis.  Graham liked My Week With Marilyn and Chirs was not surprised by War Horse but liked it overall.  Tom gives great insight into the pitfalls of showbiz along with the differences between Steven Soderbergh and Zemeckis.  It is truly a golden moment in Nerd history.

Chris and Graham welcome in the Matt Belknap from Never Not Funny.  They talk about Mayan calendars and Top Ten box office films.  Matt and Graham both liked Mission Impossible.  Chris was pleasantly surprised by We Bought a Zoo.  And Graham enjoyed Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.  Matt gives insight into being a script reader.  DVD's, new releases and much much more!  It's the best way to start the final year of life on earth!
