Movies discussed: Cloudy With A Chance Of Meetballs 2, Escape From Tomorrow, Broadway Idiot.  Chris and Graham welcome filmmaker Joesph Levy into the Nerd HQ.  Chris' kids liked Cloudy With A Chance Of Meetballs 2, but he fell asleep.  Graham really liked the Green Day doc, Broadway Idiot.  Chris had a mixed opinion of Escape From Tomorrow.  Then Joseph Levy talks about why he made the new doc, Spinning Plates (In theaters Oct. 25 LA, Chic, & NYC).  It's a doc about how three different resturants view the community experience of food.  This ep is a indie filmmaker's 24 course meal!

*Talking about Captain Phillips, Don Jon, Runner Runner, The Heat and more!*  Chris and Graham welcome Janet Varney into the Nerd HQ.  Janet talks about doing a voice for the animated show The Legend of Korra.  All three talk about why they liked Captain Phillips.  Graham liked Don Jon even though it is a little uneven.  Also Runner Runner will make a great film to watch on a plane.  Two good DVDs this week and some ineresting choices in theaters.  This is a blood bender of a episode.

*Australian film critic CJ Johnson talks about Aussie vs US indie films*  Chris and Graham welcome the host of the Australian radio show and podcast Movieland, CJ Johnson.  CJ talks about how the film industry works in Australia and how it differs from US films.  CJ also didn't like Enough Said, while Graham thought it was ok.  Chris and Graham both liked Spectacular Now.  CJ also was amazed at how bad Thanks for Sharing was.  It's a international nerd-a-rang!

*Keith and The Girl talk about Rush, Prisoners and Bad Milo with Graham and Chris*  Chris and Graham welcome back Keith Malley and Chemda from the popular podcast, Keith and The Girl.  They all thought Rush was just OK.  Graham and Keith both liked Prisoners.  Chris enjoyed Bad Milo.  Only one really good DVD and then two good films in theaters this weekend.  It's a creepy fun time for your ears!

*Jackie Kashian talks to Chris and Graham about Riddick, The Colony and The Bling Ring*  Head Ranger of the Dork Forest, Jackie Kashian, is back in the Nerd HQ.  They talk about the LA podcast Festival.  Jackie actually thought Riddick was decent.  Chris saw The Colony and was blown away at how bad it was.  Graham likes the two DVDs that are out: World War Z and The Bling Ring.  Some ok new releases this week.  It's an episode for your laughing face.

Comic Ian Edwards is in the Nerd HQ. This ep talks about The Grandmaster, The Spectacular Now, The Butler and We're the Millers.  Ian talks about his two podcasts, The Soccer Comics and The Proposterious Sessions.  Chris and Graham recommend some good films to watch at SnagFilms.com/comedyfilmnerds.  Graham and Ian really liked The Grandmaster.  Chris enjoyed The Spectacular Now.  Ian thought The Butler was just Ok, and was surprised by how funny We're The Millers was.  All Things Comedy and film is in this episode.

We are back at the San Diego Comic-Con, so that can only mean one thing.  Talking to Kung Fu Film expert Ric Meyers!  Chris, Graham and Ric discuss the Con, Ric's panel and the state of action films.  And hear about some cool martial arts films coming from China.  It is a episode you can't miss!

Crickey mates, Australian comic/podcaster Wil Anderson visits the Nerd HQ!  All three lads explain why they didn't see Grown Ups 2.  And then they all liked Pacific Rim but it had many problems.  Wil talks about some lesser known Aussie films and horrible accents.  Along with why Yahoo Serious has a website from 1994.  One good DVD out this week and a weak weekend for in-theaters.  This is a Greedy/Gritty Reboot if ever there was one.

Chris and Graham welcome back bad accent fan Pat Francis into the Nerd HQ.  Graham thought White House Down was exactly the dumb film you thought it would be.  Then all three gents express how horrible The Lone Ranger was.  Pat talks about his favorite super hero films of this summer and what he is looking forward too.  Not great DVDs this week and then the question of the week is whether Pacific Rim will be good or not.  This episode will make a bunny go crazy!

Chris and Graham are in front of a live audience in the Comedy Attic for the Limestone Comedy Festival!  First guest is comic and feature film grip Brett Hiker.  Bret tells behind the scenes stories about working on big budget films.  Then Pete Holmes comes out and defends his case that Dark Knight Rises is a bad film.  Graham tries not to kill him.  It is pure crazy fun!

It's a Zombie-centric episode with Nerd writer, Matt Weinhold and Matt Mogk from the Zombie Research Society.  First Chris says why he liked Monsters U.  Then a lenghty discussion about World War Z.  The two Matt's didn't like it while Chris and Graham enjoyed it.  This leads into talk about what makes a good zombie story and where this genre can and should go.  A couple of good DVDs and then a really weird weekend.  This episode will take over your brain like a virus.

Chris and Graham welcome back the 40 Year Old Boy and nerd writer, Mike Schmidt.  Graham talks about why This is the End is a good funny film.  Then a long discussion about why all three nerds were very disappointed with Man Of Steel.  The Superman talk leads into what makes a good comic book film and what kills it.  Are there too many superhero films?  You will have to listen to decide.  Also maybe the single lamest week for DVDs and then three interesting films coming out this weekend.  Listen to this before General Zod atacks the nerd garage!

Chris and Graham welcome comic Stephanie Escajeda into the Nerd HQ.  Graham and Chris both saw The Purge and liked it overall, although it had some small problems.  Then all three get into a discussion about where Vince Vaughn should go with his career since The Internship did not do well in its opening weekend.  Stephanie talks about the role she plays in a new indie film Love, Sex and Missed Connections.  DVDs are not that great except for ENTER THE DRAGON 40th Anniversary Blu-ray!!  Also, is there some kind of comic book film this weekend...hmm not sure.  Anyway, this episode will make you kneel before Zod!

Nerd writer Allan Havey is back to talk about the TCM Film Festival.  Allan gives insight into the big name stars that spoke at the festival.  Then Chris, Graham and Allan give their suggestions on what classic films should be at next years fest.  It's the rosebud of episodes!

Chris and Graham welcome comic Kira Soltanovich into the nerd HQ.  Graham talks about the many problems with After Earth.  Kira and Chris were both disappointed with Now You See Me.  Chris thought The Kings of Summer will make a good rental.  Kira talks about her new podcast and her early film work for Cinemax.  This episode is a cool as Tivo!

The boys are in the Nerd HQ to hear about why Graham can't pronounce Cumberbatch and that he liked Fast & Furious 6.  Chris and Graham explain how the Fast films are better than GI Joe.  Graham thought Hangover III was ok, while Chris really disliked it.  Ok DVDs this week and then After Earth along with some other interesting films this weekend.  This show is like the perfect belt with a micro-adjustable buckle!  It fits everyone.

Chris and Graham welcome back former nerd writer Betsy Salkind.  Graham and Chris both liked Star Trek but had some issues with it.  This opened up a discussion about sci-fi and what types of sc-fi Betsy likes.  Then Graham really enjoyed The Iceman as a movie but some of the portrayals were off, according to the real life documentary about the serial killer that Betsy watched.  Then we hear about a new book that Betsy has written for called No Kidding about female comedy writers that choose to not have children and why.  A pretty slow week for DVDs but who cares when there is a full slate fo good films coming out this week!  This ep will make you lose your religion.

Chris and Graham welcome comic and film actor, Rick Overton, into the Nerd HQ.  They talk about the 100+ films that he has done.  Graham and Chris tell why Gatsby had many problems despite the good acting.  Then Rick goes into detail about which films he was allowed to improvise on and how Sean Connery would fight anyone.  Cloud Atlas in out on DVD and then it's Star Trek Weekend!  Remember Highlander, there can be only one podcast!

Film fan and host of Podcrash Chris Gore is back in the Nerd HQ.  Mancini talks about why Pain & Gain is stupid.  Graham really liked Mud.  Chris Gore talks about Rubber and how inventive it is.  Then a nice discussion on how Hollywood Blockbusters have changed for a global market.  Some good DVDs this week and then get ready for IRON MAN 3!!! It's a film nerd threat for your ears!

Chris and Graham are all alone in the gargolye garage!  They have a long talk about Oblivion and what makes a good sci-fi film.  Then they announce that the show is moving to the All Things Comedy network and how that is going to be good for all you fans.  Some good DVD titles this week and will Graham break his vow to never see a Michael Bay film because Pain & Gain has a funny trailer?  Tune in to find out!

Chris and Graham welcome nerd writer David Huntsberger to the Nerd HQ.  Dave talks about his podcast Professor Blastoff and what films he watches with his girlfriend.  Graham thought 42 was a solid film.  Dave thought the 3D for Jurassic Park was unnesscary, but the film was still fun to watch on the big screen.  Chris gives a shocker and didn't like To the Wonder.  Two good films coming out on DVD and split opinions on the new Tom Cruise film coming out this weekend.  Blastoff your life up with this episode!

The co-founder of the Bridgetown Comedy Festival and comic Andy Wood joins the lads.  Andy explains why The Call is ridiculous.  Chirs really liked The Place Beyond the Pines.  Graham was smitten with The Sapphires.  Then all three talk about their favorite Coen brother films.  Slow week for new DVDs but some good films in theaters this weekend! Neil is back with bad accents and kitten hands!  Graham appologizes to the world for going to see GI Joe.  The Croods made Chris mad.  Graham thought The Host was both parts boring and dumb. Thank God Neil saw Evil Dead so there was something good to talk about.  Graham liked The Place Beyond The Pines.  Then all three talk about what summer films they are excited for.  Two out of four good DVDs and some decent indie films this weekend.  It is a scary forest of nerd fun!

Longtime friend and first time guest Sarah Silverman joins the lads in the Nerd HQ!  Graham thought Olympus Has Fallen was just the right kind of stupid, sort of how Sarah Felt about Knight and Day.  Chris really liked It's a Disaster.  Then Sarah and the boys talk about new ways of distribution and how fun it was for Sarah to work on Wreck-It Ralph.  It is like the Jesus is Magic of episodes.

Chris and Graham welcome comic Baron Vaughn into the Nerd HQ!  Baron and Graham both liked Burt Wonderstone.  Chris really liked OZ much more than Graham and Baron wanted more Sam Raimi.  Then Baron and the guys talk about their favorite Sam Raimi films.  A solid line-up of films coming out on DVD and a really weird and lame looking weekend for new releases.  Don't Fuqua this up!

A lone gunman entered the Nerd HQ, Chris and Graham got excited!  Longtime nerd writer Dean Haglund came back to talk about working on a film that Chris directed.  Graham was sooooo let down by Dead Man Down.  Dean talks about a new way to fund a film he is making and why he HATED Hitchcock!  So much so that it changed Graham's mind.  Also Life of PI is out on DVD along with a great music doc, Sound City.  It is a conspiracy of fun!

Chris and Graham welcome host of the JV Club podcast, Janet Varney, into the nerd HQ.  Janet talks about how her podcast has evolved since it started a year ago. Graham recommends Emperor as a good film about post WWII Japan.  Chris was let way down by The Sweeney.  Then all three talk about the Oscars.  Janet tells some great stories about Danny DeVito at San Francisco Sketch Fest.  A good line-up of new DVDs.  And two nice films coming out this weeekend.  Nerd it up like Suzanne Pleshette!

Chris and Graham welcome comic, co-host of the Paul Goebel show and SNL freelance writer Jim Bruce.  Graham liked Side Effects even though it caugh him off gaurd.  Jim says that it is ok for guys to like Les Miserables.  Then a solid discussion about hard science fiction and the films that use it well.  Some good DVDs this week like Fred and Vinnie.  And a cage match between Josh Duhamel and Bruce Willis.  Nerd it up!

Chris and Graham welcome themselves into the garage!  Three different guest all got sick so it's a guestless episode.  Graham thought Warm Bodies was all over the place and it is a DVD rental at best.  Chris was thouroughly impressed with the Oscar nominated documentary 5 Broken Cameras.  The boys give some updates about the LA Podcast Festival Oct. 4-6, 2013.  Flight is available on DVD if you missed it in the theaters.  Along with some other DVDs.  Two decent looking films coming out this weekend and much more!  This ep will cure your cold!

Chris and Graham welcome Matt Mogk from the Zombie Research Society.  Matt talks about all the solid work that ZRS is doing along with make makes a good Zombie film.  Graham had no problem with the fact that Parker was exactly what you thought it was.  Chris was completly let down by John Dies at the End.  Graham thought Broken City was fine until it went off the rails and became a stupid farm.  Then Matt and the boys have a nice discussion on some of the greatest Zombie films of all time.  A couple of decent DVDs this week and a Zombie professional opinion on the upcoming Warm Bodies.  This episode will infect you like a virus and make you hungry for human flesh.

Chris and Graham welcome back comic/author Stefanie Wilder-Taylor for some nerd filled hyjinks! Stefanie talks about her new TV show on Nick Jr.  Graham thought Gangster Squad was a little cartoonish.  Stefanie didn't like Perks of Being a Wallflower.  Chirs liked Naomi Watts in The Impossible but thought the film was just ok.  Stefanie didn't like Flight, but had some other issues to deal with.  DVD's and not much for new releases!  It's the blood diamond of episodes!

Chris and Graham welcome first time guest Beth Littleford into the Nerd HQ.  Beth talks about being on the early days of The Daily Show.  Graham liked Zero Dark Thirty.  Beth was bored at Les Miserables but thinks that if you are a fan of musicals you will like it.  Chris thought Matt Damon did a nice job with Promised Land, but not sure it is Oscar worthy.  Beth was dissapointed with This is 40 and Anna Karenina.  Chris was blown away (NOT in a good way) with Jet Li's train wreck, The Sorcerer and the White Snake.  Not great DVD choices but Gangster Squad comes out this weekend.  It's the Crazy Stupid Love of nerdyness!

Chris and Graham welocme back nerd writer Jackie Kashian!  They talk about why Jack Reacher is a great movie, if you are living in 1998.  Jackie loved the Hobbit and so did Chris but thought is was a little long.  Django Unchanined was good in Graham's eyes, but all would like to see Quentin do a film that is not so 1970's centric.  Many a tease for the 2nd part Hobbit Spoiler episode.  Only two films in Theaters and on DVD this week.  A little light, but who cares cause it's all Hobbit!
