Chris found Office Christmas Party to be a by the numbers comedy that was not great. Chip and Graham liked the throw back nature of LA LA Land. Chip's enjoyment of biopics made The Founder a good watch. Three trailers that make next summer look fun and more! I think some kind of spaceship film is coming out this weekend but not sure...

*FILMS DISCUSSED: MOANA, ALLIED, SILENCE, THE MUMMY, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2* Frist time guest Cecily Knobler joins the lads in the CFN t-shirt cabana. Chris and Cecily liked Moana. Graham and Cecily both found Allied to be a C+ at best.  Silence and The Mummy look like ridiculous nonsense while GOTG 2 is going to be awesome! Only one logical DVD choice this week and three solid films in theaters! This episode is the Fastest and Mummiest of all shows!

Graham liked Arrival even with Chris pointing out some accent issues. Chris was glad Fantastic Beasts was made and fits into the Harry Potter world. Graham was 100% disappointed in Billy Lynn. It's a really slow week for new trailers, DVDs and in theaters. This ep is a perfect holiday compliment to your meal.

Chris was let down by Arrival. Stefanie and her kids were surprised by how much they liked Trolls and Middle School. Graham saw some great films at Napa Valley Film Fest last week. Sticky Notes, Little Boxes, Swim Team and Good Business are all films to look out for.

Chris and Graham both liked Doctor Strange while Kevin gives his comic film rant. Graham was moved by the prison doc 13th. Kevin talks about the film he directed, The Late Bloomer. A nice list of trailers to discuss, which is good since DVDs are lame. Good Veterans Day movie and book along with two good films coming out in theaters. Let's hope this episode isn't rigged! 

*FILMS DISCUSSED: SHIN GODZILLA, IN THE VALLEY OF VIOLENCE, THE ACCOUNTANT, SWISS ARMY MAN* Chris and Graham welcome long time comic friend and first time guest, Cathy Ladman. Cathy talks about being on a new Showtime series called, "I'm dying up here." Chris was let down by Shin Godzilla. Cathy and Chris split on The Accountant. Graham enjoyed the bizarre nature of Swiss Army Man. Cathy expected a little more than In The Valley Of Violence delivered. Some Ok DVD choices and then a Strange Doctor comes to a cinema near you! An episode that is like getting a Romanian Salt Mine for Christmas.

Chris and Graham split on Magnificent 7. Chris found Miss Peregrine's to be better than the book. Karen talks about being a ghost hunter and what are the best and worst paranormal films. Then Karen does a Tarot card reading for CFN. Will they ever make it out of the garage? Listen and find out!

Graham watched Spok doc and ST3 to have a full Star Trek week. Steele suggests the Prequel doc to help see the other side of the Star Wars Prequels. Not great DVDs or in theaters so just buy the LA Podfest live stream. 

*FILMS DISCUSSED: SNOWDEN, CARTEL LAND, BLAIR WITCH, MISS SLOANE, FIFTY SHADES DARKER* Chris and Graham welcome first time guest Stephen Sajdak. Stephen talks about his We Hate Movies podcast and The Anaconda museum. Graham liked Snowden even with #JGL doing a weird voice. Stephen and Chris were really disappointed with Blair Witch. Cartel Land gave Graham some sobering information as a good doc can. Miss Sloane looks good and why in sweet Christmas is there a Fifty Shades sequel?  This ep tastes better than a freshly baked Romanian Molly!

*FILMS DISCUSSED: SULLY, FOR THE LOVE OF SPOCK, STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN, SKIPTRACE* Chris and Graham welcome back Chris Gore in the the weight bench hut. Graham and Gore really liked Sully and Clint Eastwood. Mancini found For The Love Of Spock to be a nice doc about Leonard Nimoy. Graham saw Wrath of Khan on the big screen and it started a big discussion about why the JJ Abrams Star Treks fall short. Mancini was dumbfounded by Skiptrace. Some good trailers and DVD's then cover up your webcam's cause Snowden comes to town! An episode that is best served cold!

*SPOILER ALERT! KEY ELEMENTS OF FILM ARE DISCUSSED INCLUDING ENDING* Graham and Chris go to the movies with fan and Kickstarter backer Pam Myers. Pam wanted to pick a bad film because they are better to make fun of.  She was correct!

Cash talks about doing his podcast with TJ Miller, Cashing In With TJ Miller, at LA Podfest. Graham and Chris had fun watching a move as bad as Morgan. Graham liked Carlos but found it a little long. Mascots and Max Steel don't look great and neither do some new DVDs. Sully lands (get it?) in theaters and more! This episode will make you want to sneak into the Super Bowl.

*FILMS DISCUSSED: THE SEA OF TREES, BAD MOMS, HANDS OF STONE, THE HOLLARS, KILLING JOKE* Chris and Graham welcome back former CFN intern Shawn Marek. Chris found The Sea Of Trees to be ok until the dumb ending. Graham had some laugh out loud moments during Bad Moms. Shawn found The Hollars to be adequate. Graham was pleasantly surprised by Hands of Stone. One silly horror film trailer then Shawn talks about the LA Podfest preview night at the Hollywood Improv September 22 and more! This ep will make you walk the desert without shoes looking for comic books. 

*MOVIES DISCUSSED: WAR DOGS, KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS, SAUSAGE PARTY, ARRIVAL, BAD SANTA 2* Chris and Graham welcome first time guest Julia Prescott.  Julia talks about her Everything's Coming Up Podcast, about the Simpsons and being in LA Podfest. Julia then talks about the by-the-numbers disappointment of War Dogs. Graham and Chris really liked Kubo which reminded Julia that she didn't like Sausage Party. Everyone is excited about the Arrival trailer and more! If family members are trying to take your eyes, then this ep might help.

*FILMS DISCUSSED: PETE'S DRAGON, HELL OR HIGH WATER, THE SHALLOWS, CAFE SOCIETY, NERVE, ROGUE ONE, DUNKIRK* Chris and Graham welcome first time guest Samuel Prime into the nerd garage. Samuel talks about doing film restoration and the detective work involved. Chris found Pete's Dragon to be a by-the-numbers kids film. Graham liked Hell or High Water. Samuel thought The Shallows was good summer fun. Cafe Society was just ok for Chris. Samuel enjoyed Nerve even with a weird audience demographic when he saw it. Two really good trailers came out with Rogue One and Dunkirk, which is good since new DVDs are useless. Bizarre lineup getting released in theaters this week. This episode is like playing a video game while being chased by a shark.

*FILMS DISCUSSED: JASON BOURNE, SUICIDE SQUAD, GHOSTBUSTERS, THE GREAT WALL, OFFICE CHRISTMAS PARTY* Chris and Graham are lucky Jackie Kashian lives close! Graham found Jason Bourne to be a serviceable food movie. Chris thought Suicide  Squad was a mess and Jackie brought some DC comics that would make a better movie. Graham found Ghostbusters to be funny and didn't understand why people got mad. Bad DVDs and many options to see rather than Suicide Squad. This ep is Lord of The Bourne!

*FILMS DUSCUSSED: STAR TREK BEYOND, KONG, JUSTICE LEAGUE, WONDER WOMAN, DR. STRANGE, BLAIR WITCH* Chris and Graham welcome back from the Comics on Comics podcast, Juan Manuel Rocha. Chris and Graham thought Star Trek was a good action film but not great Star Trek. Then all three talk about San Diego Comic Con and how fun it is. Also a long list of new trailers have been released at the con that vary from cool to dumb. A nice point of order and more! This episode will make you want to join a bowling league run by nerds.

*FILMS DISCUSSED: GHOSTBUSTERS, SECRET LIFE OF PETS, PURGE, EAST LA INTERCHANGE* Chris and Graham welcome first time guest and doc filmmaker Betsy Kalin. Betsy met the guys at SF Doc Fest and talks about a cool surfer doc she saw there. Chris saw Ghostbusters and liked it but didn't feel the same about Secret Life of Pets. Graham likes the social commentary of Purge: Election Year even if it's brutal. Betsy talks about her doc on Boyle Heights, East LA Interchange and the 10 years it took to make it. Also Betsy talks about Summertime a French film she watched at Out Fest LA. This ep is like a baguette and celery. 

*FILMS DISCUSSED: INDEPENDENCE DAY, GHOSTBUSTERS, THE BFG, JACK REACHER* Chris and Graham welcome back Tom Merritt. Chris and Graham didn't realize that Independence Day could be worse than their low expectations. Tom liked Ghostbusters and felt the trailers are misleading. Chris was disappointed by The BFG, but his kids liked it. Graham is the only one pumped for the new Jack Reacher film and is Never Going Back!! DVDs that can clean clothes and more! This ep is like a cuff link country club.

*FILMS DISCUSSED: FINDING DORY, SURFWISE, DE PALMA, WEINER, OJ MADE IN AMERICA*  Chris and Graham welcome back Wayne Federman. Chris liked Finding Dory on father's day. Graham was intrigued by the doc Surfwise. Wayne has been on a doc tear and saw three good films: De Palma, OJ:Made in America and Weiner. Weird looking trailers with one DVD stand-out. Independence Day: Resurgence is in theaters with sharks and a white guy helping to free slaves, so choose wisely. This ep will make you want to unpack your life.

*FILMS DISCUSSED: NOW YOU SEE ME 2, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, TICKLED* Chris and Graham welcome another first time guest! Former rapper and current podcaster Jensen Karp tells the guys about his new book and more. Graham was bored and annoyed by Now You See Me 2. Chris found the new TMNT film to be slightly better than the last. Jensen loves the new doc, Tickled. All three are not sure about Tarzan trailer. Some good DVDs and one interesting doc in theaters. This ep will make you want to get your money back from Kanye West.

*FILMS DISCUSSED: POP STAR, SF DOC FEST SHORT FILMS, EL CHIVO, FUTURE OF WORK AND DEATH, DWARVENAUT* Chris and Graham record from a hotel in the Bay Area with Mike Schmidt. Chris and Graham liked Pop Star more than they thought they would. Chris saw some cool short documentaries. Mike and Graham were really drawn in by the running doc, El Chivo. Chris and Graham found Future of Work and Death to get a little repetitive. Mike didn't like Dwarenaut as much as Chris and Graham did. It was a good talk about some interesting docs at the SF Doc Fest. This ep will make you want to run up a hill with a tire sandal.

Graham was just so-so about The Nice Guys. Chris thought Michael Moore's new film, Where to Invade Next, had some good insight but not his best film. Jay talks about how great the experience was of acting on the film, The Invitation. All three talk about how silly the Ghostbusters controversy is. Bad DVDs and then X-Men! This ep will make you want to go to jail!

*FILMS DISCUSSED: MONEY MONSTER, SUNSHINE SUPERMAN, HIGH RISE, TEMPS* Chris and Graham welcome back Tim Bennett to discuss vegan moonshine and his new film, Temps. Graham was bored with Money Monster. Chris was disappointed with High Rise. Tim loved the BASE Jumping Doc, Sunshine Superman. Interesting trailers. So-so DVDs and some great reasons to see Civil War again. Now GET OFF MY LAWN!

*FILMS DISCUSSED: CAPTAIN AMERICA CIVIL WAR, INFERNO, INDEPENDENCE DAY, POINT BREAK* Chris and Graham welcome first time guest Josh Wolf. All three thought Civil War was awesome. Josh was amazed by the CG in both Civil War and Jungle Book. Graham saw the new Point Break on a plane and now wants to buy a GoPro. Chris saw a DVD of Kurosawa's Stray Dog from 1949. A couple more good DVDs and a big question mark about new Clooney film in theaters. Or jut see Civil War again.

*FILMS DISCUSSED: KEANU, JUNGLE BOOK, MOTHERS DAY, BATMAN THE KILLING JOKE, SNOWDEN* Chris and Graham welcome first time guest Stephen Kramer Glickman in to the Nerd HQ. Chris liked Keanu. Graham and Stephen enjoyed Jungle Book even with some CG issues. Stephen explains why he loves watching horrible films like Mother's Day. Batman and Snowden trailers look interesting. Hilarious kickstarter comments, bad DVDs but who cares because  this weekend we will all have a CIVIL WAR!!! This ep is the best reason to get relationship advice from a birthday clown. 

*FILMS DISCUSSED: VERONICA MARS, EAR BUDS, AXIS, BATMAN V SUPERMAN* Aisha Tyler comes into the nerd garage to talk about how kickstarter has helped movie fans and filmmakers like Spike Lee and Zach Braff. How she came to direct a feature film and how Veronica Mars wouldn't have a feature film without crowdfunding. Aisha also defends Batman v Superman! Do Graham and Chris throw Dana Gould shirts at her or does she convince them it wasn't that bad! Listen and find out! 

*FILMS DISCUSSED: THE JUNGLE BOOK, CRIMINAL, DEMOLITION, MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, X-MEN APOCALYPSE* Chris and Graham welcome first time guest Geoff Tate into the weight bench shed. Chris was surprised by The Jungle Book. Geoff had fun watching Criminal. Graham was glad he saw Demolition. Geoff is more excited by Magnificent Seven trailer than Chris and Graham. All three are unsure about new X-Men trailer. Odd choices on DVD. Some hilarious posts on Chris' Kickstarter and a funny movie about a cat in theaters. This episode is all about nuance. 

*FILMS DISCUSSED: EVERYBODY WANTS SOME, MILES AHEAD, GENERATION IRON* Chris and Graham welcome back CFN writer David Huntsberger. David talks about his new podcast Space Cave. Chris likes Linklater films but Everybody Wants Some had a few good moments but fell a little short. Graham loved Don Cheadle's Miles Davis biopic, Miles Ahead. David was drawn into the body building doc Generation Iron. NEW SEGMENT: Talking Trailers like Rogue One and Dr. Strange. One good DVD and some question marks in theaters. This ep will make you want to coach a baseball team as a fish. 

*FILMS DUSCUSSED: MIDNIGHT SPECIAL, THE INVITATION, MR. RIGHT* Chris and Graham welcome back CFN writer CJ Johnson. Graham really liked Midnight Special. Chris and CJ thoroughly enjoyed the indie thriller, The Invitation. CJ talks about a cool movie book by Illiana Douglas called, I Blame Dennis Hopper. CJ also found MR. Right to be good fun, although not perfect. Good Justice League DVD and dealers choice in theaters. Put this ep in a field and wait for the FBI.

Chris loved the time travel film Synchronicity. Graham was happy with how the drone debate was handled in Eye In The Sky. This is a good episode for smaller films. I hope it makes you smile.

Jay and Micah talk about their new horror comedy They're Watching. Solid DVDs this week and two out of four films look good in theaters. A perfect episode to calm your nerd rage or have a pointless dream sequence.

Ngaio had fun at Brothers Grimsby. Graham really liked the documentary about pro wrestler The Sheik. Ngaio was scared at The Witch and loved Deadpool. Ok DVDs and two very different films in theaters. This film will give you reason to smoke weed for PTSD and fight a guy from another planet. 

*FILMS DISCUSSED: 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE, CROUCHING TIGER 2: HIDDEN BULLSHIT, CHRIS NOLAN FILMS* Chris and Graham welcome first time guest Shane Mauss. Chris and Graham both liked 10 Cloverfield. Shane and Chris found the Crouching Tiger sequel to be silly. Shane talks about his favorite Christopher Nolan films. Many Oscar films on DVD and some weird choices in theaters. This is the episode to listen too if John Goodman is your dad in a bunker. 

*FILMS DISCUSSED: RACE, WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT, ZOOTOPIA, WHAT HAPPENED, MISS SIMONE? DEADPOOL* Chris and Graham welcome back Greg Proops! Graham thought Race was a so-so biopic. Chris and Graham spilt on Tina Fey's new film. Chris and his family liked Zootopia. Greg like Nina Simone doc but wanted a little more. Greg talks about going to Turner Classic Movie Fest. Jackie Kashian gives us a SpareMin on Deadpool. Odd choices for DVD and in theaters. This ep will make you want to bleed in the Balkins! 

The 88th Oscar Awards are over so Chris and Graham are going to break it down. They have colorist Tawan Bazemore on to discuss how Chris Rock handled the race issue, upsets and more.  Also Tawan explains what the color correction process is in post production of filmmaking and specifically what he has done for Ear Buds.  This ep will make you want to fight a bear.

*FILMS DISCUSSED: DEADPOOL, THE REVENANT, THE 33* Chris and Graham welcome first time guest from The Office, Oscar Nunez. Graham and Chris really liked Deadpool. Oscar liked the graphic novel and was happy with the casting. Oscar was blown away by The Revenant. Oscar also talks about filming the new Baywatch movie and working in a mine on The 33. Good DVDs this week and maybe some sleeper hits in theaters. You will want to ride a train with Ernest Borgnine after listening to this ep.

Graham and Chris both think Room is excellent and worthy of all the awards. Gareth liked the acting in Carol. All three liked the fun of Hail Caesar. Gareth talks about some of his favorite documentaries. So-so DVDs and a big Deadpool question mark in theaters. This ep will make you want to have some beers with your wife.

Graham and Chris both disliked Brooklyn. All three liked Kung Fu Panda 3 as well as Marc and Chris' kids. Marc talks about the current state and future of comic book movies. A lot of questions for new DVDs. Caesar and some typical February releases. This ep will make you bite the hand that feeds you. 

*FILMS DISCUSSED: THE DANISH GIRL, ANOMOLISA, BIG SHORT, OBVIOUS CHILD* Chris and Graham welcome back podcaster Alison Rosen. Graham is disappointed with Danish Girl and the Oscars. Chris was intrigued by Anomolisa. Alison found The Big Short to be informative. Alison also talks about her favorite rom-coms and some guilty pleasures. Two good DVDs and more reason to see films that should have been nominated in theaters this weekend. This ep will make you want to have puppet sex. 

*FILMS DISCUSSED: CONCUSSION, ATTACK ON TITAN, MAZE RUNNER SCORCH TRIALS, ROAD CHIP* Chris and Graham welcome back Kira Soltanovich to the nerd box. Graham thought Concussion should have received some Oscar Nominations. Chris asks you to do homework before watching Attack On Titan. Kira gave Alvin and the Chipmunks: Road Chip a big thumbs up for sleeping. Chris couldn't understand Scorch Trials. Some good and some dumb on DVD. Also perfect time to watch all the Oscar films as new releases are useless. This is the Woodpecker of all episodes! 

*FILMS DISCUSSED: THE BIG SHORT, THE HATEFUL EIGHT, THE REVENANT, STAR WARS* Chris and Graham welcome back Matt Belknap into the weight bench office. Graham and Matt both like Big Short but can't remember what Margot Robbie said. Chris did not like Hateful Eight as much as Graham. The Reverent made Graham want to kill a bear and sleep in it. More discussion about Star Wars and George Lucas feeling like a billionaire slave. Horrible DVDs and many reasons to find Golden Globe winners and future Oscar noms in theaters. This episode will make you want bird pizza!
